~ the obituary ~
Pordede was locked to a language rather than to a country. It opened in 2013 as a Spanish index of links to films and series that lived on somebody else's servers, and it opened into a specific hole: the Ley Sinde had come into force in Spain in March 2012, and Series.ly, which had been the address everyone used, stopped carrying links rather than fight about them.
It hosted nothing itself. What it kept was a catalog and a per-account tracker of what you had already watched against what you still had pending, then it pointed you at lockers somebody else was paying for. The tracker is the part that made it stick. A list of links is replaceable in an afternoon by anyone with a weekend and a server, but four years of your own viewing history is not, which is why every successor in this story led with an account migration instead of a bigger catalog.
None of it reached me, and the reason is language before geography. Pordede's whole catalog was Spanish audio and Spanish subtitles for an audience in Spain and Latin America. Turkey was solving the identical problem on its own domains in Turkish at the same time, and the two scenes had no reason to ever meet.

~ the night it went down ~
On 4 July 2017 the operators posted from the site's own Twitter account that the database was gone. They told people to change that password anywhere else they had reused it. The admins said they had never been hit like this before and did not know who had done it, and the site went offline the same day.
In the same thread they warned that something advertising itself as Plusdede was not theirs and might be a second pass at the same user data. The warning did not survive the week. Plusdede accepted the old Pordede nicknames and passwords, which was the only credential anybody had left, and the community walked over.
~ the names that came after ~
Plusdede ran a little over a year. On 23 September 2018 its admins wrote that the site would close that week for reasons outside their control, and before it went they published an export tool so people could carry their watchlists out. Megadede had those users within days. By 2020 Alexa put Megadede 72nd among all sites visited from Spain, and on 18 September that year its admins announced that in less than a week it would come to an end. Playdede took the audience next and announced its own closure in October 2025, after roughly six years.
pordede.com does not resolve, and megadede.com answers with a hundred-byte script that bounces you to a parking lander. playdede.com 301s to a gateway page whose entire purpose is getting you into series.ly, which is still running. Four names in twelve years, and the last redirect lands on the site the first one was built to replace.
