~ what's free ~

read anything on rip.so. quote individual paragraphs with a link back. comment on a grave under your own name or anonymously. subscribe to the weekly newsletter, we don't share your email with anyone, ever.

submit a candidate grave through /submit.cgi. write to [email protected] with a correction. all of it free.

~ what we ask you not to do ~

do not scrape rip.so to train ai models. we said no in robots.txt and we mean it. the obits are written one at a time by a human, they are not training fodder.

do not post spam, abuse, harassment, or content unrelated to the grave you are commenting on. moderation is a human reading every comment, and a human will remove what does not belong.

do not submit graves for products that are still operating. rip.so is a graveyard. living things go somewhere else.

~ what's ours ~

the original writing on every grave is copyright burak özdemir, 2025 to 2026. you can reproduce a paragraph or two with attribution and a link. do not republish full graves elsewhere without asking first. answer is usually yes if you ask.

the site code lives at github.com/bozdemir/rip.so and follows its own license there.

~ what's theirs ~

product names, logos, and screenshots referenced under fair use as historical record of dead web services. if you own a logo or asset on rip.so and want it removed, write to [email protected] and it comes down within a day. no court order needed.

~ no warranties ~

the site is given to you as it is. dead products were dead before we wrote about them. nothing here will resurrect them. if rip.so itself goes offline, you can read the archive at web.archive.org.

~ changes ~

if these terms change, this page changes, and the last-updated date below moves. there is no email notification because there is no account system.
