~ the eulogy ~

A magazine stopped printing in July 2019 and its website carried on for six more years. That is the whole shape of ストーリアダッシュ, a free comic site Takeshobo opened on 7 April 2017 after a pre-launch the week before on 30 March. It closed on 17 October 2025 in the same four-site merge that took まんがライフWIN and WEBコミックガンマ.

It started as the web edition of a print title, まんがライフSTORIA, and the arrangement was visible in the name. The official name of the site was まんがライフSTORIA with a prime mark after it, and the logo printed that in small type above the words ストーリアダッシュ set large. Nobody called it the long version. When the print magazine stopped in July 2019, some of its serials moved onto the website to keep running, and from April 2020 the editorial desk renamed itself the ストーリアダッシュ desk and the small type came off the logo.

Takeshobo kept feeding it. When まんがくらぶ stopped in March 2020 and was absorbed back into まんがライフ, a handful of its series landed here too, including ト或ル夫婦ノ日乗. The site was where the publisher put comics that no longer had paper to sit on.

~ what came off it ~

Two of its series became television anime while the site was alive. うちの会社の小さい先輩の話 by 斎創 started on the site on 3 April 2020 and was animated by project No.9 in 2023, then made into a live-action drama on BS Matsutake Tokyu in 2025. 魔法少女にあこがれて by 小野中彰大 started on 30 March 2019 and Asahi Production animated it in 2024, by which point the comic had already moved to a different magazine, so the second season belongs to someone else's masthead.

ラーメン大好き小泉さん arrived from the print edition in March 2020 and ran here until February 2024. Its anime and its first Fuji TV drama predate the move, which means the site inherited a series that was already famous rather than making it famous, and that was more or less the deal with the whole roster. The comics people know from here are the ones whose names got attached to an animation studio.

From the day it opened the site used a mascot: しばいぬ子さん, the lead character of a four-panel comic by うず. In December 2017 it opened a satellite edition on Dwango's Niconico Manga called ニコニコストーリアダッシュ, which is what a Japanese web comic site did in 2017 when it wanted readers who were never going to type its address.

~ the day it died ~

The closure notice went up on 19 September 2025 and named all four addresses at once. On 17 October, ストーリアダッシュ, まんがライフWIN, WEBコミックガンマ and WEBコミックガンマぷらす became 竹コミ!, with the running series moved over and the books still coming out under Bamboo Comics. Nothing was cancelled. Four editorial identities were collapsed into one, and a site that had spent three years shedding its parent magazine's name got filed under a new one anyway.
