Kadokawa Games announced it on 30 August 2016 at a media briefing, as a joint title with Aeria Games, a subsidiary of Aeria. The genre label printed on it was next-generation raising simulation and the director was Yoshimi Yasuda, who ran Kadokawa Games at the time. It went live on 9 December 2016 on both phone platforms, free with items for sale.
You captained a super-gravity ship called the Asterism. Your crew were the star maidens, hoshimusu, each one named for an actual star and flying a mobile weapon called a G-Gear: Sirius out of Canis Major, Vega out of Lyra, Antares and Sargas out of Scorpius, Aldebaran out of Taurus, with Terra standing in for the third planet of the solar system and Andromeda rated as galaxy class. Every one of them carried a combat class and a named special weapon.
The voice cast was expensive. Nana Mizuki played the vice-captain, with Sumire Uesaka, Saori Hayami, Ayana Taketatsu and Ayane Sakura among the maidens. Releases were planned in sequence for Taiwan and the Hong Kong market and then mainland China, with southeast Asia going to a separate operator.
On 29 June 2018 the official site posted two notices on the same day, one announcing the end of service and one explaining how to claim back an unused balance. The game stopped at noon on 27 July.

~ twelve episodes, never animated ~
In October 2016, two months before the game even launched, Kadokawa Games and Alpha Games announced the anime. Osamu Yamasaki was named as director, with twelve episodes ordered for a 2018 broadcast. That ordering tells you what the project was for: the game had to work in order to pay for the anime.
The game closed in July 2018, inside the year the anime was supposed to air, and the Japanese Wikipedia article records the adaptation as canceled on the back of the shutdown. A twelve-episode order with a named director is a long way into a production to get before being stopped. Nothing was ever broadcast.
~ starlygirls.jp in 2026 ~
The site is still there. It answers on its own domain with its own title, about fifteen kilobytes, and the news column still runs newest first, which means the top two items are the two notices of 29 June 2018 with a maintenance-complete announcement from the day before underneath them. Below those sit the last things anyone played: a memorial exercise handing commemorative goods to the top finishers, and an event called the duel of the OK star cluster.
The footer still prints the release date and the price model, and the copyright line still reads Aeria Games and KADOKAWA GAMES. Eight years after the servers went off, the marketing site still answers.
~ the star-maiden label ~
Kadokawa Games kept the idea. The Japanese article's see-also line points at Relayer and files it as the second entry of what it calls the old star-maiden project, and Relayer was still being cast in 2021, three years after this game closed. The label outlasted the product it was built to launch.
