Logres
~ the obit ~
Marvelous AQL opened Ken to Mahou no Logres to the public at 15:00 on 5 October 2011. It was an MMORPG that ran in a browser tab, built by Aiming with staff who had come off Browser Sangokushi, and the press material pushed the phrase junkokusan at it, meaning wholly domestic, made here. A closed beta the month before had taken 5,000 players. The open service took everyone.
Combat started by walking into something. Monsters carried their level over their heads so you could pick fights you could win, and a wait timer gated how often you could act, which gave a browser game a tactical floor it had no business having. There was no client to download and no install to approve, which in 2011 was most of the pitch.
You could also play it with a Yahoo! Mobage account, and that detail places the whole thing on a map. The portal layer underneath it was Japanese, so the people who could reach it were the people who already had the account. For something that needed nothing but a browser to reach, it stayed inside one country for all seven years.

~ killed by a plugin ~
Adobe said in the summer of 2017 that it would stop updating and distributing Flash Player at the end of 2020. Marvelous worked through what that meant and gave up on 27 June 2019, naming the reason in the notice itself: with Flash support ending in 2020, the company could not keep promising the game would run. Flash Player had sixteen months left to live when Logres stopped.
~ opened at three, closed at three ~
The wind-down was published as a calendar. MooG point sales ended on 27 June, the day it was all announced, and paid LP sales followed on 25 July. New registrations closed alongside the service itself on 30 August. The inquiry desk stayed open a month longer and shut on 30 September.
Any LP a player still held expired the moment the service did, regardless of when it had been bought, which the notice stated in advance rather than leaving people to discover. The service ended at 15:00, the same time of day it had opened seven years and ten months earlier. Nothing in the record suggests anyone planned that.
~ the one that lived ~
This entry is scoped to the browser game on purpose, because the franchise is still trading. The phone version, Ken to Mahou no Logres: Inishie no Megami, is a separate service that was never built on Flash, and Marvelous is still running it. Its most recent App Store update is dated 21 October 2026, the day before this was written.
So the browser original is survived by its own descendant, and the thing separating them is a runtime. The setting carried across, along with the publisher and the name over the door. What did not carry across was the plugin. Marvelous closed the older service well over a year ahead of Adobe's own deadline.
